For those in North America, it is often easy to forget that beyond the borders of the continent, there exists a huge musical talent. These musicians are stars in their own lands and some even beyond the borders of their countries. 

One such example of this is Darya Dadvar. One of the best Iranian Sopranos, this extremely talented singer, born in Iran but now residing in Paris, has crossed borders with her magnificent voice and compelling personality. She got her start as an opera singer after growing up in an artistic environment in Iran. She had a successful career as a soprano when she moved to Paris in 2001.

In addition to performing music by others, she creates her own music giving it a special blend of traditional Iranian and European classical music. She has a talent for arranging Iranian music with jazz and blues to create a unique sound that has given her a place among the top world music artists.

Iranian Sopranos: Darya is not limited by one type of musical style though her roots lie in opera and Iranian music. She blends historical periods and crosses language and dialect barriers. The music she creates comes from the soul of who she is and creates something new and exciting in her songs.
